Gun control saves lives.

Nope. States with stricter Gun control laws actually have higher crimes rates with firearms as compared with states with Concealed Handgun License, which have a lower firearm crimes rates incident.

Although in ‘97 there were 15,289 murders in the United States, only 10,369 were committed with firearms. Also, of all the violent crimes (APPROXIMATLY 8 MILLION INCIDENTS) only ½ a Million were committed with firearms. But if guns were outlawed, the number of murders and violent crimes would have been much, much higher.

Here is why guns save lives: Guns saves lives because Americans use firearms to defend themselves from criminals at least 764,000 times a year. This figure is the lowest among a group of 9 nationwide surveys done by organizations including Gallup and the Los Angeles Times. Another example is that at least 34 per cent of imprisoned criminals report have been “scared off, shot at, wounded or captured by an armed (civilian) victim”

While the gun port saves lives, let’s take a look at its counterpart, gun control.
Consider the fact that following the virtual ban on handguns in 1976, between 1976 and 1991, Washington D.C.'s homicide rate rose 200%, while the U.S. rate rose 12%, thus this shows that gun control is never a good idea. Obviously this shows that the old adage “when guns are outlawed, only outlaws shall have guns” is not far from the truth.
